Now here is a nice catch! Our local angler Damien Howard was fishing at the Rotary park area and landed this nice size stripped bass. He was fishing form shore using his favorite swim bait to land this striper at 9.84 pounds and 29 and 1/4 inches. This is about what this length of a fish usually weighs in at. I am extremely thankful for having been chosen by our Arizona game and fish dept. To be our local weigh station. The scale provided to my bait and tackle shop has been provided by the Arizona game and fish and is kept up to date by weights and measures. Back to fishing we are getting our local trout stocking and anglers have been doing well fishing from shore and using either bait or various spinners even trout jigs are producing limits.

Up on Lake Mohave the water level is on its way back up this usually has a positive effect on the striper bite. Watch for the boils as the shad should be back in the coves and along the shore line in various spots. Keep an eye open for bird activity as they also like to feed on the shad and the stripers should be on the same site. The casino area and community park have been getting some striper activity along with some rainbow trout action.
