The fishing along the Colorado river here below the Davis dam is going very well. Not much word from Lake Mohave as of yet this should change soon. So far its only some large mouth bass and a few small mouth bass with plastics working well. The peanut butter and jelly color and some cinnamon colors are working the best. Below the dam anchovies are catching a fair amount of stripped bass.
We had a very successful striper derby this last weekend. I have a couple of anglers that came in to share their catches. Let’s not forget our our local angler Don Calvano who was using his fly rod to bring in his rainbow trout to share he cleaned them before coming in but great to see some fly fishing going on. His favorite area of course community park great area as our parks people have done a super job on that area for anglers and picnicking for families.
Not much from the marsh as our weather is warming up and that can be a hot area. A couple of anglers are saying the large mouth bass are still being landed but most anglers practice catch and release with these fish.
We had a great time at the derby and the Sunday event was super the music was provided by Tim Lamb the piano man. He opened with “Freebird” and did some Willies Hank and Merle at one point he was doing a Doors medley. The barbecue food provided by Big Stein and was fabulous. The VFW had a beer garden and their staff was the best. Our City staff did an outstanding job all the way around and all had a great time our raffle was a huge success. So a great big thanks to all that came out and we hope to see more of yuall next time hope this helps for now thanks for all of your support
