Look where we live. The weather is great the fishing is doing well here along the beautiful Colorado River below the Davis Dam. With all this turmoil our shore line is a great place to be. Our parks here in the city are well kept with plenty of space to provide all a safe environment in this time of need. If you don’t feel well stay in as we will have plenty of great weather self quarantine for now thanks.

Back to fishing we did get another stocking at our Community Park of rainbow trout brought to from the Federal Hatchery Willow Beach Hatchery. We had some visiting anglers from Las Vegas Kevin Voong (black cap),Matt Cabana, Regan Young (grey cap) that were able to land a few rainbow trout. They were fishing at community park area and had a great time. This group of friends were using mice tails spinners and night crawlers while fishing from shore.

Our local anglers 4 year old Jett Lobato and his older brother JJ were fishing from Gary regans boat . Gary is doing a good job on helping a lot of our younger anglers experience fishing. Their stripers weighed in at 1.46 pounds at 16 and 3/4 inches Jetts first striper and on a zebco combo rod and reel. While JJ striper was 3.12 pounds at 21 and 3/8 inches a very nice catch. The good news is anchovies are working well and with the smaller stripers coming in you might need some bait wrap thread to help keep your bait on the hook a bit longer it’s a tip.

I haven’t heard much from up on Lake Mohave  as far as the striper. The large mouth bass are mating and making their nests. so please be careful when catching and releasing these fish as they will bring us more fish. I have heard that the Topock marsh area is starting to produce a few large mouth bass catches in the 3 to 5 pound range. the cat fish bite is also starting to come alive.
