The striper bite is starting near the Davis Dam and so far they have been found in the deeper waters. Anchovies have been working for this area. I have also heard of some catfish action near the fishing dock in the Katherines landing bay.

Our snow birds from Colorado Dan and Karen Wischnack landed these 3 stripers at 5.60 pounds 27 and 1/2 inches 6.42 ponds and 28 and 1/2 inches and the bigger one at 7.66 pounds and 28 and 3/4 inches while fishing from their boat near the dam. While Les Kern from Apple Valley California, was using a blue gill feather to land his 6.66 pound striper at 26 and 1/8 inches he was fishing by the power lines near the opening of one of the coves. 

Below the Davis dam along the Colorado river the shore line at Community Park is producing some striper activity and just below the Rotary Park area has been reporting a few stripers in the 4 to 7 pound range.With anchovies and various glide baits working to land the stripers cruising by. 

There has been little news from the marsh as of yet as far as the catfish bite and the large mouth bass. I am sure that the bass fishing will pick up soon as they should be done with guarding the fry (baby fish). Once this is over the bass will start to feed and can become very aggressive. I did get some word that the lower opening to the marsh has been producing a few strippers. With our water levels going up and down a bit keep an eye open and watch your levels to avoid any boat damage. Our water ways are going to get busy again so be careful out there. even on shore or close out you might keep an eye out for those wild jet skiis. Untamed so to say but they mostly are near the casino area.
