Look where we live . We have some great areas to get out and explore and our fishing has been just super. Our local and visiting anglers are having some great success in landing some nice catches.
Up on Lake Mohave the striper bite is picking up near the dam and various coves. I have been hearing about a few fish boils that have been spotted just out side of the Katherine landing area. The shore line near stop sign cove has been producing well. The shallows has a few pan fish and some Largemouth action while out on the points you might be able to get a few stripped bass. The coves near the power lines are just starting to produce some nice action with the evenings doing a bit better. With a mixture of species to target there is plenty for all anglers of various skill levels to go after. The Largemouth bass are usually in the shallow areas of the coves while the small mouth bass like the shelves at the openings.
Below the Davis dam its mostly striper action. Near the dam has been doing well and the casino area has some great spots. One of our favorites the community park area which has a great shore line that produces a nice variety of fish. You might even get one of our hold over rainbow trout. Our local angler Mike Merritt went out fishing from his jet skii and landed a nice stringer of stripers. He was using anchovies in the upper big bend area. While Gary Regan was out fishing on his boat with his son Chris Betts(yellow shorts). He was fishing with his favorite top water plug and landed these 2 stripers one at 11.74 pounds and 32 and 1/2 inches the other a super 16.12 pounds and 36 inches. these are trophy size fish.
A reminder as I was saying there are a lot of the smaller fish out there and they can and do get to your bait fast. But have a good knot and your drag set as these larger fish do come in and they can peal off some line These two anglers were a bit down river just up from the nature center which is another one of our great park areas. I haven't heard much news from the Topock marsh area but I know that is coming that area usually produces some nice channel cats and plenty of large mouth bass. We hope this helps for now thanks for all of your support
