Riviera Marina Fishing Report

Look where we live. Besides our extreme heat we have some great fishing here along the Colorado River. Our local angler Mike Merritt is back with a nice stringer of stripers. He was fishing in the big bend area and uses his jet skii to get to his favorite fishing spot. While fishing form shore using anchovies he landed these stripers. This time of year this size is what is happening. These school size or little bait stealers as I like to call them are just all over the river.
We do get a bit larger now and again so shows Drew Richardson with her 3.94 pound striper at 22 and 1/4 inches. Our young local angler was using anchovies near the Riverside casino to land this catch and by her self nifty I must say.
Now some great news from the Topock Marsh area. This features our local angler Dennis Baldwin and side kick Jasper. Dennis landed a nice batch of cat fish mostly channel cats with a couple of bullhead cat fish. Yep the cat fish we are named after. The story goes you would go to a famous rock to catch your dinner and that was catfish bullhead catfish. Which is how the rock got its name which its a fun story. Well Dennis was using chicken livers to land these fish while fishing off of his boat.
The word from up on Lake Mohave is a few stripers being landed near the dam on the Nevada side and some luck in and around the coves above the power lines. I have been hearing that it’s mostly the anchovies working the best in the mornings or early evenings.
Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and the story that goes with it. Mostly thanks so much for all of your support Now Go Catch A Fish Rusty Riviera Marina 520 Riviera Blvd. Bullhead City Az. 928-763-8550
