The striper action is still going well I am getting reports from the community park area that our shoreline is producing a few in the 8-to-15-pound range. Below the Davis Dam also has been doing well for our shore anglers. Both top water pencil poppers and various glide bait are bringing in a few of these larger stripers. I had to include the picture of Mike Ambrosine with his 16.32-pound striper he landed it using his trout rod on 6lb test line. What a great feat on that light of line. I would not recommend such a light of line to target these stripers trout yes.

Which we are getting our rainbow trout brought in from the federal hatchery at Willow Beach. These trout are raised from the cold Colorado river water below the Hoover dam and range in size from 10 to 15 inches. I had to bring up our fishing club group with Gary Regan as the mentor. This outing produced a nice catch of stripers more of the usual size throughout the year. Anchovies did the trick while they were fishing from shore in the Chapparral area. This group include Mason Barela, the mynk brothers Russell and Evan and Jayline Newson. Gary had gone elk hunting recently and I am looking forward to seeing his catch I heard he was able to fill his tag with a nice cow elk. Great job we have so much opportunity for both hunting and fishing in our area and throughout the state here in Arizona.

Back to fishing up on Lake Mohave the striper action is spotty with some nice size fish being landed in the area near the dam and various coves you really need to locate the boils for the best action, but the stripers can be found in coves and up near the basin anglers are having the best luck trolling with soft baits usually in a white or trout pattern.
