9.22 Lb. Striper

Our local angler Mark Osgood also known as corn man you might find him at our local events selling corn also likes fishing. In this case he was up on Lake Mohave using one of his favorite swim baits and landed this nice 9.22-pound striper at 31 inches.  I have been hearing that the lake has been producing a few stripers around the dam on the Nevada side and some of the coves along the Arizona side near the power lines.

Below the Davis dam and along our shores of the Colorado river we are getting a few stripers mostly in the 2-to-4-pound range with anchovies working well. Anglers from both boat or shore are having some success either by bait fishing or throwing various lures. I have been getting reports that the trout pattern or the bone seem to produce a bit better in hook-ups. this time of year, its a good idea to watch our water levels before venturing out by boat.

A reminder that this time of year up on Lake Mohave the water level will be lowered for some maintains and for the harvesting of the Larve of the endangered fish that are raised at the Willow beach hatchery. The water level is usually lowered about 10 feet and should be back up by November.

Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story but mostly thanks so much for your support .
