Riviera Marina Fishing Report

It’s striper action and Community Park has been giving anglers some great success on landing fish. Our local angler Ray Macmillan landed a 7.52 striper at 29 and 1/4 inches. He was fishing from shore using one of his favorite swim baits. I have been getting reports that anchovies have been producing a few in the 1-to-3-pound range. These fish are being caught in various places and this seems to be the most common size range. A reminder that the larger fish are showing up as we get closer to some cooler weather and their spawn time or pre spawn it's a little early yet.
Up on Lake Mohave the striper bite has been a bit slow with the late afternoon working the best and the Smallmouth bass bite is picking up with these fish being landed in the 3-to-5-pound range. Plastics and spinner baits have been working well.
Back down river a bit the Rotary Park area has been giving up a few trout from the last stocking, but anglers are having to hunt for the holes that they are holding up in. After a stocking the trout will stay for a few days and then move out to other locations. We all hope they are feeding on the caddis fly and from past experience the rainbow trout do a great job of feeding on these bugs. We will be getting some more trout which will be brought to us from the Fedeal hatchery the willow beach hatchery. We are so looking forward to these stocking as the hatchery folks raise some nice fish.
Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story mostly thanks so much for all of your support.
