14.66lb. Striped Bass

One of our visiting anglers, John Vitacco, was able to land a nice-sized striper while fishing from the shore at Community Park. John was using anchovies to bring in this striper that weighed 14.66 pounds and measured 33 and 1/2 inches in length. A great catch! Just a reminder, we often get large fish here, so make sure to set your drag and tie good knots.
We've recently received a trout stocking from a hatchery in Colorado. These hungry rainbow trout make for great fishing. Our local anglers, Mike Fisher and Dale Grace, were able to land their limit while fishing from shore using a Mepps spinner and a Thomas Bouyant spinner.
Mike Fisher is working on opening an amputee support group and should be open for meetings soon at the old Suddenlink Community Building. He recently lost part of one leg and discovered there were no support groups in our area, so please reach out and make contact with him.
Anyway, getting back to fishing, we've been receiving some great reports from our local shores. Both stripers and rainbow trout are providing exciting activity and superb fishing experiences. We haven't heard much from Lake Mohave yet, but I'm sure things will improve soon, and the same goes for the Topock Marsh area. The marsh is renowned for its catfish and largemouth bass, making it an excellent fishing spot.
We hope this information is helpful for now, and we look forward to seeing you soon to share your catch and stories. But most importantly, thank you so much for all of your support.
