Striped Bass up to 14 pounds from Lake Mohave

We had a successful outing on Lake Mohave with our local anglers fishing off Cornman's (Mark Osgood's) boat. They landed a nice catch of stripers while trolling near the coves around the power lines using swim baits. Our anglers Mike Bagtio, Brenda Meyer, along with Cornman, landed a 14.6-pound striper measuring 31 and 1/4 inches, a 9.96-pounder, a 9.21-pounder, and a smaller one at 7.52 pounds. This is an impressive haul! It seems other anglers are also having luck trolling in various spots on the lake.
Here along the shores of the Colorado River below the Davis Dam, trout and stripers are biting, though the larger ones require patience and persistence to hook. Anchovies haven't been effective yet, but they're usually a reliable bait when the smaller fish are abundant. Trout are being stocked, and spinners and trout jigs are yielding good results. When that slows down, switch to bait such as nightcrawlers and power bait, which will help you reach your limit of five rainbow trout.
We hope this information is helpful, and we look forward to welcoming you soon to share your catch and stories. Thank you for your continued support!
